Taking roads less traveled...
Jennifer attended University of Illinois at Chicago where she graduated with distinction with a B.A. in Anthropology, as well as Political Science. While here, she particularly connected with the subfield of Medical Anthropology and read extensively beyond the required curriculum. Jennifer’s Undergraduate work resulted in a strong knowledge of biological, ecological, and cultural factors that influence human behavior, and included theoretical approaches, practical methods for enhancing cross-cultural understanding, social research, qualitative interviewing and fieldwork, and quantitative methods.
Following her Undergraduate work, Jennifer was offered a position clerking in a law firm, and then a position working in an environmental non-profit agency. While she enjoyed working in legal and non-profit environments, Jennifer wished to return to her studies in medicine. She traveled to Spain and walked 200 miles from León to Santiago de Compostela to clear her head and afterwards, enrolled in a four-year full-time Masters program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, IL. Here she studied East Asian medicine, and graduated with honors.
